SCHOLARSHIPS

The application to the Erasmus Mundus Scholarships is considered part of the application to the Master Course. In due time, the candidates will be informed by the Consortium Secretariat about EM grants approval by the European Commission.

There are two types of students’ scholarships associated with the EURHEO EM Course, as explained below.

 

Category A scholarships

  • Students from countries that are not part of the European Union or the EFTA/EEA (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway)
  • Students that have not resided nor have carried out their main activity in a EU or EFTA/EEA countries, for more than 12 months over the last five years.
  • Students that never received an EMMC scholarship.

Category B scholarships

  • European students
  • students who do not fulfill the Category A criteria.

 

The maximum number of Erasmus Mundus Scholarships per Category for the 2012-2014 edition is planned to be (only indicative numbers):

  • Category A - up to 7 scholarships + additional scholarships specifically for students from the Western Balcans and Turkey, from Tunisia and Egypt and from "Eastern Neighbourhood Countries" (i.e. Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine).
  • Category B - up to 5 scholarships

 

In addition to the Erasmus Mundus Scholarships, the EURHEO Consortium will offer Category B scholarship supplements (up to 500 €/month) to selected category B students awarded with a Category B scholarship.

 

The grant holders will be assisted by the University of First Enrolment in the procedure of opening a Bank Account, which is compulsory to the bank transfer of the scholarship. It is the student’s responsibility to pay any bank charges related to account maintenance, currency exchange or others.

 

 

SCHOLARSHIP PAYMENT PROCEDURE

 

Category A

- The total scholarship amount is 48.000€

- the Consortium deducts the correspondent tuition fees (8.000 EUR/year/student) from the total scholarship.

- upon student arrival at the First Host Institution, s/he is requested to immediately open a bank account (your host institution will support the student with this procedure). It is the student’s responsibility to pay any bank charges related to account maintenance, currency exchange or others.

- as soon as full bank account details are provided, the Consortium will process an advance payment correspondent to the amount of 4.000 EUR.

- the remaining scholarship amount will be monthly paid (1.000 EUR for 24 months) directly by the Consortium Secretariat to the student.

 

Category B

- The total scholarship amount is 20.000€

- the Consortium deducts the correspondent tuition fees (4.000 EUR/year/student) from the total scholarship.

- upon student arrival at the First Host Institution, s/he is requested to immediately open a bank account (your host institution will support the student with this procedure). It is the student’s responsibility to pay any bank charges related to account maintenance, currency exchange or others.

- the scholarship amount will be monthly paid (500 EUR for 24 months) directly by the Consortium Secretariat to the student. 

- An additional 10.000 EUR as scholarship supplement in case of award by the EURHEO consortium, paid monthly.

 

The monthly allowance amounts may be increased in order to cover additional costs of students with special needs.
