Universidad de Huelva

The main expertise of the Complex Fluids Engineering Laboratory is related to the relationship among microstructure, rheology and processing of rheologically complex materials, with special emphasis on foodstuffs, pharmaceuticals, and petroleum derivatives. The Laboratory is very well equipped and a wide variety of rheological tests on a wide spectrum of materials (from solids to Newtonian fluids) can be performed. Moreover, a number of techniques to study the morphology (different kinds of electronic microscopes, particle size analyser, optical analysis under shear, etc), thermal properties (i.e. DSC calorimeter) and technological tests (i.e. penetrometer, etc) are currently available. The Laboratory is also equipped with different process pilot plants to optimise the manufacture of a broad diversity of materials. The Laboratory is responsible for a Master on Product Design (officially recognised by the Spanish Ministry for Education and Science, with a Mention of Excellence), which is offered as first year in this Master on Engineering Rheology.
