First, you must register in our Web site using the signup form. You will be automatically logged in after this process and able to begin filling out the application form.
Please read the questions carefully. The form is easy to complete with very direct questions. Just fill in the boxes. Then click ‘Save’ on the end of each page. You should see a tick on the right side menu confirming your data has been recorded and is correctly validated (no errors found). If you hit 'Save' and the tick does not show up, it means something is missing or incorrect - check your application again.
If you get an error like this, something went wrong - either you're not filling the information as you should (incorrect data or format) or some fields are incomplete. Please make sure there are no "Required" labels next to the input boxes. If the problem persists, please send an email to eurheo@dep.uminho.pt.
This year, we are receiving all applications via our Web site. There is no need to send paper versions of it. It is true that we will required that the officially selected students send us the paper versions of the form. We will inform the concerned candidates in due time.
Some referrers prefer to send the recommendation letters sealed. In that case, they may send the letters to our address. In case you are given an open envelope, you may digitalise it and upload on the Web site, in Step 3.
Your referrers in Step 4 should be listed as the same people that wrote your reference letters. One of them must be from a faculty member.
What we are looking for here is the possible range of your marks in your University. In example, your classification rage may be from 0 to 5 and you scored and 4,35. That means you have a 4,35 out of 5. We want to know the lowest possible mark and highest possible mark.
That is the Language Competence Scale, a model for describing your language skills widely accepted in Europe. Please follow the link and by reading the Self-Acessing Grid, and try to match your knowledge in each language to the description.
Our schematic aims to clarify the focus of each university on the first year of studies. For example, if you choose UMinho, the project’s coordinator, the main focus of your studies will be Polymer Engineering, with other curricular units that will also cover Mechanical Engineering. You should take this into account as you choose where you’d like to perform your first year of Eurheo. However, it is not assured that you will be selected for that choice.
The motivation letter is personal. There is no defined format and you may make it as long as you want.
If your education was in English, you may request your university a signed declaration stating so. If not possible, a Certificate such as TOEFL of IELTS is compulsory.
In case you still don’t have a language certificate, but are enrolled for a test, you may send the result to us before June 2010.
To be eligible for Eurheo, you must graduate until June 2010 and send us the Certificate by then. In the meantime, you should provide us with an updated Transcript of Records and provisory degree certification.
On that January 8th, 23h 59m, the system will automatically close. All applications will remain as they are.
If your passport has expired and you do not receive the new one before the deadline, please upload a copy of your old passport and the receipt of your request for the new one. If you do not even have an old passport, please temporarily upload a document which is considered equivalent in your country and the receipt of your request for a passport. However, remember that if you are selected, you will have to provide a copy of your valid passport as soon as possible.
Just click on "Browser" and select the document to upload from your computer. You may upload any format, but the maximum of all attachments being uploaded may not exceed 64 Megabytes. Note that uploading big files and images will increase the time to complete this action. If the problem persists, send an email to eurheo@dep.uminho.pt and we will assist you further.
You can only submit your application when all the steps have a tick on the right side menu. Until then, something is either missing or incorrect and, therefore, the application is not valid for submission. If you can't see the "Seal and Commit" button on the top of all steps and all the ticks are in place, please send an email to eurheo@dep.uminho.pt so we can assist your further.
After you hit the "Seal and Commit" button, your application will be closed for evaluation. You will not be able to change any of its content or see the information you have previously sent. A message about your application being closed will be displayed if and when you try to access it via the main menu.
No, but you should, in order to avoid skipping the deadline date. If all the ticks are in place it means all your data is correctly validated and is now ready to be submitted for evaluation.
Yes, and you can also change any information even if not all steps have the tick on it. However, make sure that introducing new information won't render the data invalid and therefore, have the tick removed from the step. Always click 'Save' after changing any data.
Yes, you may upload any compressed archive in order to submit several documents at once, for any specified attachment. You can use a free software application like 7-Zip (http://www.7-zip.org/) to compress the files.
Yes, but keep in mind this will replace the file previously uploaded.
You may find a "View file" button on the right side of the "Attachment X" section, allowing you to download and view the file there.
You must hit the "Save" button at the bottom of that step in order to upload the file(s).
For each of the attachments being uploaded, the "Attachment X" section header will turn green if everything went good.
Most likely the sum of the size of all files exceeds 64 Megabytes. You may not upload more than 64 Megabytes at once, otherwise an error will be displayed and no files will be uploaded. Try selecting one file at a time and hit "Save" for each of them.
The error you are experiencing we believe to be due to incorrect filling of the answer boxes. Please try and apply again, by altering the format of the information, such as to answer 'Legal Duration' in months, not years.
